Harbor started its business in a metal shed in Harbor City, California, near the Long Beach harbor. Since then it has grown into one of the five largest service body manufacturers in the U.S. Harbor is now the leading manufacturer of service and utility bodies on the West Coast. The Company has been in business continuously since 1973.

The Company's rapid expansion has not been at the expense of designing and developing quality products. In the first ever quality surveys performed on commercial specialty vehicle manufacturers, Harbor made Automotive History….It was ranked first in quality among all U.S. service body manufacturers. This ranking was based on an assessment performed by an independent engineering consulting firm on behalf of Pontiac-GMC in 1996.

Never content to let things rest, Harbor out did itself by achieving a perfect quality score in 1997 assessment. In doing so, it became the recipient of the Pontiac-GMC's prestigious "Excellence in Quality Award". Harbor is also a proud supplier to other fine companies such as General Motors' Chevrolet Division ; Ford Motor Company; Daimler-Chrysler and Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A.

Time after time, the Company wrests away quality-conscious customers from competitors because of its ability to manufacture bodies flawlessly.
